The transnational initiative ‘Young Soloists on Stage’, which aims to promote outstanding young musicians from South Tyrol and North Tyrol in a special way and introduce them to a larger concert audience, takes place alternately in Merano and Bressanone. In addition to the Tyrolean chamber orchestra Innstrumenti with its conductor and presenter Gerhard Sammer, the Institute for Music Education (German and Ladin Music Schools Department in the German Education Ministry) has played a key role in developing and promoting the project. The South Tyrolean Artists' Association is also involved, commissioning compositions from South Tyrolean and North Tyrolean composers, with the effect that young musicians are engaging with contemporary music.
