The beauty of the landscape, the rich cultural offer and fine gastronomy
A trip to Valle Isarco is always worthwhile
The Valle Isarco in South Tyrol has its special atmosphere in every season: the beauty of the landscape, the rich cultural offer and fine gastronomy.
The Valle Isarco stretches from Brennero to Bolzano, on the southern side of the Alps. 15 km from Brennero lies the old “Fugger” town Vipiteno with its side valleys. Further south, the narrow Isarco gill widens to form the Bressanone basin.
The landscape of South Tyrol is full of enchantment: from the rolling low mountain ranges with their vineyards and chestnut groves, the luscious mountain pastures and alps through deep forests up to the bizarre rock figures of the Dolomites and the 3000 m high glaciers of the Zillertal and Stubai Alps.
The appeal of this region not only consists of the beauty and variety of the unique landscape: this valley of transitions, where Mediterranean and central European and Nordic cultural influences meet, is graced by old farmsteads, picturesque villages and historical cities of the Valle Isarco like Vipiteno, Bressanone and Chiusa: they attest to the millennial cultural landscape, characterised by the unique masterpieces of leading master-builders, painters and sculptors of all stylistic periods.
Our highlights in the Valle Isarco:
• Hiking and mountain bike possibilities for all needs are at hand in abundance, and also winter time in Valle Isarco offers plenty of activities for snowboarders, ski fans and unhurried cross-country-skiers. A worthwhile destination especially for families, considering the fact that all skiing areas offer attractive White Week packages (with ski kindergarten).
• Culinary highlights along the Eisacktaler Genießerstraße (gourmet’s road of the Valle Isarco), varying between old-fashioned delights and Austro-Bohemian and southern, Mediterranean recipes. The offer is complete with a delicious glass of wine from the Valle Isarco.
• Last but not least: the highlight in the course of seasons is autumn with the old tradition of “Törggelen”, a tasting of typical local specialties and new wines in old farm parlours.
